W155 Geotextile Enhances Access Roads at DENSO Manufacturing Plant, Campbellfield

dux-vaughans-at-denso

They are currently building a new plant for manufacturer DENSO at National Blvd, Campbellfield. Project Manager Damien chose W155 woven geotextile to stabilise access roads and hardstand areas on the site, which comprised a 300mm thick layer of 80mm rock spalls. In areas without W155 heavy 100 tonne cranes were creating ruts up to 300mm deep in the Type M heavy basaltic clays typical of Melbourne’s north.

“It’s a no-brainer”, said Damien, “the areas treated with W155 stood up to the heavy traffic no problems, the areas without W155 rutted out immediately. At only $0.70/sqm, I don’t know why all roads aren’t built using W155”.
