Wayne Alexander has over 30 years of experience in the geosynthetics industry. Before starting his own business, Southern Geosynthetics Supplies Pty. Ltd., 25 years ago, he worked in management roles with manufacturers Geofabrics and Amoco. Wayne holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Management from Deakin University.
Wayne has published numerous papers in technical conferences, including "Geotextile Specifications Made Easy," "Controlling Shrinkage Cracking from Expansive Clay Subgrades," and presented "Geogrid Reinforced Pavement Design" at the 2023 IGS Rome conference. He also holds international patents for the "iglube" structural module.
Wayne has dedicated his career to advancing the field of geosynthetics. Throughout his career, he has worked with leading manufacturers, accumulating invaluable knowledge and insights into the industry. His commitment to innovation is evidenced by his contributions to technical literature, having published numerous papers at conferences on topics such as Paving Fabrics, Silt Fences, and Geogrid Reinforcement of Railtrack Formation and Retaining Walls..

Bobby Densa, our Technical Sales expert at Southern Geosynthetics Supplies, brings a wealth of experience in civil and landscape construction and product sales. With his extensive background, Bobby is dedicated to providing top-notch service and innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients.
Bobby’s expertise is exemplified through projects such as the Moomba Park Wetlands. At this site, Bobby observed the installation of DUX SPL40 Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL). The multi-layer composite, comprising a bentonite clay layer sandwiched between two geotextile layers, was proposed by Project Manager Simon Milne at Contek as a cost-effective alternative to traditional compacted clay lining. This innovative GCL solution replaces up to 600mm of compacted clay, leading to significant cost savings, especially with soil disposal costs exceeding $50/cm.
The Moomba Park Wetlands ponds are specially designed to provide a habitat for the growling frog and are arranged in a series to progressively filter stormwater before its disposal into the Merri Creek. Ian Hulse, our Business Development Manager at Southern Geosynthetics, brings over 30 years of experience in all facets of civil engineering product design, supply, and installation. His expertise spans geosynthetics, pipes, and stormwater products, making him a valuable addition to our team.
Ian is focused on working with designers to promote and support our new range of "iglube" products. His extensive knowledge and industry experience are instrumental in driving innovation and providing tailored solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
