Innovative Road Construction: DUX CG30 Reduces Depth and Costs on Soft Subgrade

craigrossie-main

See anything different about this road? Given it is built on very soft, variable sub grade, would you be surprised to learn it is only 250mm deep?

Roads built on very soft sub grade typically require up to 600mm over-excavation of unsuitable material and replacement with a subbase capping layer. Then followed by 300mm of compacted crushed rock base course and 30mm asphalt wearing course, up to 1m deep on total. DUX CG30 allows construction to proceed directly over the soft ground, the 250mm cement-treated crushed rock base locks into the grid. Major savings in over-excavation disposal and replacement result. DUX CG30 comprises a biaxial 30x30kN/m reinforcement grid combined with a separation geotextile. The only question is – Why aren’t all councils using CG30 to reduce road construction costs?
