DUX CG30 composite geogrid is currently being installed at PA Burns Reserve carpark reconstruction at Altona foreshore by contractor Elite Roads. The area is an old landfill, containing contaminated, uncompacted fill, so traditional “proof-rolling” was not possible. DUX CG30 geogrid together with a 150mm layer of Cement Treated (CT)
A further layer of 150mm of crushed rock and 30mm asphalt wearing course completed the pavement. DUX CG30 is a 30x30kN/m polypropylene bi-axial geogrid combined with a 150gsm non-woven geotextile. The geogrid locks into the aggregate and the geotextile provides the important separation function. Some 4,000sqm of CG30 was laid across the entire 100 carspace carpark.
