DUX W155 – Inghams Pakenham

DUX W155 Geotextile Solutions in Roadway Construction

w115-warehouse-mary-st-pakenham

Geotextiles are widely used in roadway construction, but not so commonly across building foundations. In this novel application some 16,000sqm of DUX W155 woven geotextile was used to stabilise soft areas around a warehouse building slab.

Proof-rolling had shown persistent sub grade softness across the pavement and building foundation areas at this project at Inghams at Mary St, Pakenham, even after placement of a sub grade capping layer of recycled crushed concrete. Further in-situ cement stabilisation was considered but rejected in favour of using DUX W155 woven geotextile together with a capping layer of 200-300mm of crushed mudstone. DUX W155 is rated as an extremely-robust woven geotextile, the ideal choice for all soft sub grade stabilisation applications.
