Jute Mat

Jute Mat is a needle-punched, high-density matting made from natural 100% biodegradable, natural biege-coloured jute fibre. The jute fibre is needle-punched onto a light hessian scrim. Jute Mat forms a natural mulch mat, retaining soil moisture and helps prevent soil erosion. Heavy Jute Mat acts as a weed suppressant, whilst light jute is used to promote grass seed germination to promote grass growth. Heavy Jute Mat is available with 5 slits/sqm and also without slits. Applications include lining of open stormwater channels, earthen embankments, around wetlands and for general landscaping. Jute Mat is to be securely pinned down with 2-3 pins per sqm. In areas subject to water flow, mat should be shingled in the direction of water flow.
