DUX Geogrid Reinforcement for Effective Road Slip Repair

Road slip repair is difficult, laborious and costly. Extended wet seasons have caused untold numbers of road slips in mountainous areas, that road authorities find repairing difficult to fund. A new technique offers a quick, effective, low-cost solution to this ongoing problem. In June 2023 the “bent-mesh” geogrid reinforcedsoil system was trialled by South Gippsland Shire on repair of a 6m high road slip at Alambee Estate Road, Hallston. The failed soil is reused incorporating layers of DUX geogrid reinforcement. A bent-mesh lost formwork facing completes the system.
