DUX 30c geotextile ensures best long-term performance

Construction of horse arenas is a fine art and Rob Trigg of Lysterfield Landscapes knows all the tricks of the trade. The base must be strong enough to support the high pressure point loads of horse’s hooves, but not too rigid to cause damage to the horse. At the same time the base must also be free draining. At this project at Yellingbo the arena was constructed over the site of an old dam. The dam was cleaned out, filled with clay and graded to 1% gradient. DUX 30c non-woven geotextile was then installed to provide separation and drainage. A layer of 100mm of compacted road base was then installed over the DUX and finally 100mm of granitic sand completed the construction. DUX geotextile will ensure that the arena performs at its best for years to come.
