DUX 50/50-25 Asphalt Grid used at Richland Ave, Cooper Plains QLD
Richland Avenue, Coopers Plains was in very bad condition; the road was structurally sound but the old asphalt surface was severely oxidised and “crocodile” cracked. Complete reconstruction would have been very expensive. DUX 50/50-25 asphalt grid, together with a 40mm asphalt overlay proved the ideal, low-cost alternative. DUX grid prevents reflective cracking, protecting the new asphalt surface. In night works in May 2020, Brisbane City Works crews laid 4,200sqm of DUX Asphalt Grid, transforming Richland Avenue into a new road.
DUX 50/50-25 is a reinforcing 50x50kN/m polyester grid combined with a bitumen-impregnated ultralight non-woven to ensure good adhesion to the existing asphalt surface.
Simply roll out DUX grid directly on a light emulsion tack coat.
Lay new asphalt directly on DUX grid.
